Pursuing Your Passion Course – December 2013
We can’t spill the beans on everything, but check out a bit more of this group’s course experience:
Following your dreams can be a scary and foreign journey. This course is aimed at giving you the tools and knowledge to do anything from opening your own business to pursuing that hidden passion you have buried within, and in December 2013, military widows did just that!
We did everything from exercises to pin-point our strengths and what made us light up, to remembering and actually doing many of the things that brought us joy before our hero’s passing, and seeing that the joy is still there. We learned about how to start a business or even just start doing more of what we love each day!
We also headed to MakeATX for a workshop in floral arrangement put on by our partner, Women.Design.Build, that allowed us to not only get our hands dirty, but to meet empowering women who took their love for flowers and made it into a blooming company!
This was very exciting for many of the ladies in attendance, as becoming a wedding planner was a dream they always hoped to pursue!
We ended the weekend by bringing in a widowU Mentor, Megan, who pursued just that by starting Circle the Date Events! An event-planning business that she found the courage and strength to start after losing her her, Cpl. Michael Craig Ledsome.
We spent the day learning her story, her ups and downs, and getting a taste and advice on how to integrate your dreams into a reality! She even took us to his grave to tell us in the times she has doubt or fear, she would go there to talk to him and find the strength to push on.
It was an amazing weekend that had everyone’s inner fire set a’blaze! Come back to see updates!
